I'm tried out the new Indigo. It's so different from the Helios, and I'm lost. which tool should I use to create UML diagrams, such as activity diagram etc?

There is very little that is fundamentally different in Indigo. I
suspect that you have just not reinstalled the projects that you
previously used in Helios.

You have three solutions today.
1.Open source MDA tools: Papyrus or Topcase
2. Non Open source MDA tools: IBM Rational
3. Non open source Live code and model synchronization : Omondo EclipseUML

For me live code and model synchronization is key factor for the success of java modeling projects otherwise MDA is recommended.

The UML2Tools (0.10.0) are also still working in Indigo.
