Hi,

I've spent last 2 days with this problem and run onto this topic:
h ttp://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/m/695721/#msg_695721

I have the exact problem.

For no reason, I coud not start Eclipse. Here is the error I got:

Link to image (I cant post links yet): h ttp://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/846/screenshot20110712at328.png/

I've tried also everything.

Downloaded new version of Eclipse (Indigo). Updated java from software update. Played with all combinations of JAVA_HOME and PATH variable.

And I always get this error. I can start Eclipse through Eclipse.app/Contents/MacOS/eclipse

I tried putting -vm parameter in info.plist and still no luck.

Why is this happening? How can I fix this?

This looks like a common problem and nobody found a solution to that?

According to thread that I linked in first post. Andrew said:
"Ultimately on the Mac, what will really happen, independent of which
java was found, is that we will load the
"/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework" bundle. Which "java" was
found really just helps decide which version you get."

Which java you will take from here? In this folder there is a shortcut to Home which contains bin/java --> and this is my JAVA_HOME variable.

Here is the content of that folder: (delete space between two h)

Will you load that JavaVM (which also is a shortcut)? Or you will load /Home/bin/java

Because JavaVM is shortcut to /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/A/JavaVM
