Hello,

is there a possibility to change the behavior of timetracking for an issue?

i would like to track the time that is spend for solving an issue while
im not using eclipse. So there is time im making calls and sitting in
meetings that times theoretically belong to the issue.

But the time doesnt count further when the eclipse window looses the
focus. so i would like to see an option that decides the behavior of
this feature. maybe the focus could be changed:
"window looses focus: stop" to "screensaver starts: stop" or "machine
suspends: stop"

any help appreciated

ciao

Ulf

Hi Ulf,

for me I solved this issue in the Preferences for Tasks, section Advanced:

Here you can disable the idle detection globally. Then as soon as you start the task, the time is
counting...

Not a perfect solution, but should work for the moment.

Would be happy to talk about a better design on a Mylyn bug, e.g.

- configure per repository
- configure per task (enable / disable idle detection)

Cheers, Jörg

Ulf,

Tasktop Pro, the commercial product version of Mylyn, provides more
advanced time tracking capabilities that can help. With Tasktop, time is
tracked when you are working outside of Eclipse. Tasktop also provides the
capability to automatically generate time tracking reports where you can
adjust the recorded time to account for meetings etc.

To get a sense for the scope of Mylyn the best place to refer to is
probably the current project plan:
http://www.eclipse.org/projects/project-plan.php?projectid=t ools.mylyn

If a commercial product is an option for you, I’d recommend taking a look
at http://tasktop.com and http://tasktop.com/time-tracking/
