A visual designer for XML based UI is now opensourced as an Eclipse Labs project. This was hitherto a commercial designer product.

Find it at -
http://code.google.com/a/eclipselabs.org/p/swixeditor/

This editor leverages EMF, GEF, JEM, JDT plugins. It can be customized (annotated) to support any XML UI schema and any UI library (Swing, SWT, Custom).

fyi

Hi Sanjeev

What is the status of this project? The manual discusses Eclipse 3.1 and
3.2 prerequisites. The 22 December, 2006 User Guide has licenses
discussion and a feature list distinguishing free and professional versions.

How much of the former VE project is this able to replace? How does the
editor interact with an application?

[I recommend a picture on your home page; possibly the first figure from
the User Guide.]

Regards

Ed Willink
