The F3 key in Eclipse SDK 3.6.2 is supposed to "Open Declaration" when "In Windows" and it has done just that since I installed Eclipse long ago. Today, however, it stopped functioning. If I go to Preferences/General/Keys it shows that the shortcut is set to the default, F3. If I unbind it and then try to enter F3 as the shortcut once again by hitting the F3 key, it instead enters Ctrl+Y. I can restore F3 as the shortcut by clicking the Restore Command button, but it still doesn't function. I've temporarily set the shortcut to Ctrl+8, and this functions, but I'd like the normal F3 shortcut to work. I have similar problems with other Fx keys, specifically F5 and F6. Any ideas why this is happening?

Are the function keys working on other applications?

Yes, they are. F3, for example, is normally used in Windows applications as a "Redo" key, and it functions correctly in that manner in other programs. Note when I try to enter F3 as Open Declaration shortcut in Eclipse/Preferences/General/Keys, it enters the Redo sequence "Ctrl+Y", rather than F3. However when I hit the F3 key during editing in Eclipse, it doesn't function either as a Redo key or as an Open Declaration shortcut.

I tried upgrading to Eclipse 3.7.0 in the hope that might fix the problem - it didn't.

One time I had Ctrl-Space stop working and it turned out that something
else I installed (my new webcam's software) on my OS was very aggressive
about grabbing that key. I was sure it was an Eclipse problem, but it
wasn't. I forget how I tracked it down. :-(

I found the problem, and you were right - it had nothing to do with Eclipse. It was a faulty keyboard! Thanks for the help.
