Hi Michael, in the latest release of EMF there is a graphical editor for
Ecore models.
You can use it just right-clicking on the model and select "Initialize
ecore_diagram diagram file" or you can create a new model from scratch by
selecting new->other...->other->Ecore Diagram.

For km3 models, there is a question: do you really need to visualize km3
metamodels? The km3 metamodeling language has been developed to easily
design metamodels in a Java fashion...
By the way, you can inject the km3 metamodel into an Ecore model and then
follow the instructions given above.
