Using Eclipse Helios SR2, and Egit 0.12.1 on Windows 7 I have problems importing a GIT project into my workspace -- the resulting project is mostly empty and not connected to GIT.

I want to add the "jline2" project to my Eclipse workspace, to be found at github.com (I am not allowed to post URLs...?!)

After cloning the repository, I use the 'File' / 'Import...' / 'Git' / 'Projects from Git' wizard.

I choose my local repository, then select "Use the New Projects wizard" in step 2.

A new wizard pops up labelled "New Project", I select "Java Project". Next. Type in "jline2" as the project name. Hit Finish.

BOTH wizards close, and the project created is mostly empty and not connected to the git repository.

Nothing has been written to the ".metadata" log file.

AFAIR there was a problem with importing projects and using the New Projects wizard.
You could try to upgrade to a newer version of EGit (don't know, if 1.0 is already in the update site), or use the Import as General project wizard, and after that, convert the project to a Java project

Sorry, I should have checked the bugs database first.. There is actually an issue (still open) for this:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=324145

My eclipse doesn't report any available updates, and since the bug is not marked as resolved, I shall wait a while.
