Hi,
I have problems to install eclipse e4 (4.1 RC2) with the design tools on both windows xp and macos. Ich have downloaded and unzipped Eclipse 4.1 RC2. I tried several configurations but I have not succeeded to configure a working environment. I could not find any documentation about which tool I find in which feature. Is there any documentation about that or can anyone give me some hints?

About xwt: After having installed the xwt bundles, the ide freezes as I try to open the perspective or open an xwt file in the editor.

Thanks

Christian

Hi,

I'm not sure which Visual Design Editor you are talking about:
* The XWT-Editor
* The Visual e4 Workbench Model Editor

The latter is discontinued and the first also never worked at least for
me. IIRC Window Builder which is now an Eclipse.org-Project has support
for XWT but you'd have to ask at their forum. Window Builder is known to
run on Eclipse 4.1.

Thank you for your rapid answer. How am I supposed to model the workbench model (xmi file), if the workbench modeller is discontinued. What alternatives exist?

Sorry,

I found an answer by Paul Webster from two years ago! The workbenchmodel editor resides in the e4 tools feature.

Thank you
