Are there any plans for supporting High Availability in Virgo? The solution ideally has to be software only and does not necessarily depend on any underlying hardware

Hi,

I don't have much experience of HA so what features would you be looking for to provide good HA support? I'd be surprised if we ever provide a feature that is hardware dependent.

Hi,

I think HA features will be cool addition for Virgo.
For starter on this discussion, are there any plan to implement Distribute OSGI (part of R4.2 spec I believe) in Virgo?

Hi,

Sorry for the slow reply, we've had a lot of people out of the office of late. We don't see any reason why Distributed OSGi won't run on top of the Virgo Kernel. We have no plans to do our own implementation as at least one has already been written, see (http://cxf.apache.org/distributed-osgi.html).
