Hello,

I'm wondering what version of snaps works with virgo 2.1 and where can I get it. I looked at http://www.eclipse.org/virgo/download/ but there is no note about snaps or slices, so I was a bit lost.

I got the latest from git://git.eclipse.org/gitroot/virgo/org.eclipse.virgo.snaps. git, but it doesn't work in virgo 2.1 as far as I can tell. Is there a way to get it working in 2.1 ?
I know it works in 3.0, but I'd rather not do any major changes like this right now.

Thank you.

Jan

Looks like I solved the problem by getting some old code from the git repo, tagging it on local and building. Now it works under 2.1. However new problems came to surface. I will create a new topic for those.

In case somebody is wondering , the git SHA for the snaps I used is : dafcf0c861e552baf6f11d8a88c2df53bf32ee6d

Thank you.

Hmmm. Chris Frost is on vacation until Monday, but I'm a little surprised that you didn't pick SHA 91b182b265ba5432070f388cde04db149d39a162. Did you try that and find a problem?

We should certainly tag the repo at a point which works with Virgo 2.1. Please would you raise a bug so Chris can look at that on his return?

Glyn,

in 91b182b265ba5432070f388cde04db149d39a162 I see the org.eclipse.virgo.kernel and related upgraded to 2.2.0.M01 in the "build.versions" file, so I decided that would take me over the edge. Am I wrong ? Should that still work on 2.1 ?

Thank you.

Of course you are right. I didn't bother to look inside the other commit.

I tagged commit dafcf0c861e552baf6f11d8a88c2df53bf32ee6d as support-for-virgo-2.1.0.RELEASE for posterity.

Thanks for raising this.

That was fast.

I guess you can close that bug report I just created then.

Best Regards, Jan

Done, but thanks for raising the bug. It may give others searching for the same solution more chance of finding it.
