I added:-

http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-nightly

to my installed software sites list, so that I could install the new EGit Mylyn code.

The Mylyn code refused to install because of clashes with old versions of EGit. So I thought I would try an update to see if that would resolve the problem.

But instead I get:-

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=SDKProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.egit.doc,0.12.0.201102280450
No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.egit.ui,0.12.0.201102280450

Anyone got any ideas?

David

Can you try again? I just installed the latest versions and it worked without problems. Maybe there was something wrong with the Hudson deploy job of the p2 repository.

Well the symptom has changed overnight, now I get:-

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=SDKProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
Problems downloading artifact: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.egit.doc,0.12.0.201103010326.
MD5 hash is not as expected. Expected: 665314fed0bb10e29fccaa9cecb8fc92 and found b2f533a66aefb9f7527daee0f163c71a.

Do you use a proxy? I have some problems in my company with a proxy, that i don't have at home without a proxy.

no, no proxy.

And a few days ago there were some updates to other parts of eclipse (and I do mean ones from eclipse.org, not from third party plugins) that came in correctly.

I'm experiencing a similar problem when installing Egit:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=SDKProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
Unable to read repository at http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates/plugins/org.eclipse .egit.doc_0.11.3.jar.
Read timed out

Maybe is it a server problem?
Regards, Paulo

you can try to download the zipped p2 repository linked on the download page
https://www.eclipse.org/egit/download/
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/egit/updates/org.eclipse.egit.repository-4.8.0.201706111038-r.zip

and then install from this local archive
