I'm using Eclipse for Android development and after installing the Android plug-in, I found that the option to create a new Android project is missing from the File Menu's - New pop up menu. The option to create an Android project is only found when I select File -> New -> Other and then find Android project.

How can I make the New Android Project option visible under the File - New menu?

Thanks!

The Android plugins (ADT) are not a product of Eclipse; they run on the
Eclipse platform but are developed and supported by Google. This forum
isn't for supporting third-party tools like ADT; I suggest you ask on
the Android support/developer forums.

There is a way to promote "buried" options up out of Other... to
front-line status and, I assume, so could be done with Android Project.
I've seen the solution to this described in the last year in this forum,
however, it wasn't important enough to me to learn it, so I can't
describe it here.

I observe that New behaves differently (i.e.: has different front-line
options) depending on the perspective, the view and how you reach it.
For example in the JEE perspective, frustratingly, I find Dynamic Web
Project missing when I right-click down in the Project Explorer and
choose New, but present when I pull down File -> New.

Because I find the reply you received here to be so very offensively unhelpful, I'd like to share the following link that should help to resolve your issue.

http://developer.android.com/sdk/eclipse-adt.html#installing

Best of luck in your Android dev efforts...

in case anyone still needs the answer, it's here:
stackoverflow.com/questions/4649562/eclipse-with-android-sdk-missing-menu-items

basically, switch to the java perspective, bring up its context menu, then reset.

Tried everything suggested but no luck until I installed Android Development tools for Eclipse
https://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/android-development-tools-eclipse

Now under file-new it will list new android project
