Dwarf error when trying to debug [message #654878]

I am building on Solaris using the Solaris compiler and linker (CC). However, when I try to debug, I get a bunch of "Dwarf Error: Cannot find type of die" errors. Is gdb incompatible with CC? I tried dbx, but after searching the net it seems that eclipse doesn't work with dbx.
