Hello all,

As the EPL FAQ says "I'm a programmer not a lawyer", but there is a big confussion here at my organization regarding this topic. I have read the EPL FAQ, the PQL FAQ, the entry at Life at Eclipse blog: http://dev.eclipse.org/blogs/mike/2010/04/06/epl-gpl-commentary/, this article of the FSF: http:// www.fsf.org/blogs/licensing/using-the-gpl-for-eclipse-plug-i ns and many other things I have found.

We would like to release our Eclipse Plug-in under GPL, but we use many others EPL plug-ins. I think our plug-in is not a derivative work since we just use other things, we have not modified third party code.

I could distribute my plug-in apart from the Eclipse platform, so the end user would have to download my plug-in, Eclipse, and the other plug-ins that my plug-in make use of.

We have difficulties here due to the different interpretations everybody has about this topic, and I have to ask here before getting advise of a legal counselor.

What do you guys think? Could I distribute my plug-in under GPL?

Thank you very much. I really appreciate your help.
