I have a C++ project that compiles and links ok, but Eclipse seems to hang up at the end of the build. It seems to be trying forever to create "Path Entry Markers."

Any ideas of what may be wrong would be greatly appreciated.

Sticky post at top of this forum? You'll get more and better help with
C/C++ issues in the Eclipse CDT forum than this one.

I ran into this just recently after successfully using Eclipse Helios CDT for several months. However Eclipse grinds to a crawl when it got into this state, so I'm wondering why there aren't more posts about this major annoyance.

The workaround I found was to turn C++ Indexing off and then exiting Eclipse. The Path Entry Marker job had to be cancelled, and it still took a few minutes to get to saving workbench data. Only after relaunching Eclipse were things back to normal.

If somebody knows the correct remedy, they will be bigtime heroes.

Hi,

can confirm the idential problem (HELIOS build, CDT). Your suggested workaround (turn off INDEXER and close Eclipse, restart Eclipse and turn INDEXER on again) was successful. Thanks for the hint.
