Hello!

Sometimes data is missing in the report-pdfs. Less than 1% of the pdfs are affected but due to the fact that these pdfs represent invoices this issue is a show stopper for us :-/
Complete table rows are empty or missing!?
If I generate the same report by hand using the Birt-Eclipse everything is ok. Also if I rerun the same process the pdfs are ok.
So it has something to do with the runtime environment.

Our setup: The Report-Engine is integrated with a Java-application and is running on a clustered IBM-Websphere (6.1.0.25) setup.

The problems occured after these two changes:
1. We upgraded the Report-Engine to version 2.6.0
2. A significant modification in our architecture has been implemented:
we don't call anymore a stateless EJB directly to trigger the Birt Engine
>> instead we trigger the pdf-creation via JMS by putting IDs into a Message Queue.

Maybe the second change may cause concurrency problems!?
Another observation is that the missing data issue occures only the first time the Birt Engine gets initialized
after an application server restart.

Another but less critical issue is that fonts-types are sporadic and hard to reproduce bold or bigger.
If I regenerate the report the result is not the same...means other characters are affected.

Is there someone out there facing similar problems or already solved them?

Thanks & Regards,
Dominik

Dominik,

I responded to this question on Birt Exchange, but I believe this is
going to be difficult to diagnose because setting up the environment to
reproduce the issue may be difficult. Do you have logging enabled? Do
you get anything in the logs when the error happens?
