Hello all,

I'm in a computer X and I have a Ubuntu server computer Z. I have all my projects in a Samba in the Z computer because I have the webserver there.

I'm using Eclipse in X and load all the projects from Z. When I try to create a git repository in Z with Eclipse, it works ok, I can see the .git dir and the files related to it. The problem is when i try to commit, I always recieve this error:

Committing failed
Writing trees
Unable to create new object: Z:\gestion_vacaciones\.git\objects\05\272e734b35fcc2ba774e262ede3c8913547982

(Z: is the samba share)

I tried to create the folder 05 and the file to see if i have permissions, and yes all seems to be ok.

What's the problem then?

Thanks!
Dani.

I have the same problem. I get an error when I try to commit when Git repo is on a network drive. Have you found a solution to your problem yet?

Hello Smile

No.. I still get that error. It's possible that it is a bug, no? Or maybe we have something configurated wrongly?

Dani.
