Editor breaks up every now and then [message #65023]

Hi,

It seems that since a few days one or two of the files i edit keeps
breaking up the editor. I don't know if there are any known bugs
regarding this, or some situations i should avoid, but it breaks down
the entire platform too. I can't find any log files showing the problems.

Maybe someone can help me figure this one out by telling how i can find
the files where some information may be logged.

It seems this occurs when a relatively large file ( about >500 lines) is
being processed for syntax highlighting, and meanwhile i save the file.
Maybe it's a dead lock?

Are you using PDT 1.0.2 ? If so I would raise a bugzilla for this on

exquisitus - i just registered for the eclipse newsgroups, and was
assigned your username. (i thought it was odd that i wasn't allowed my

Hi Dave,

I am using PDT 1.0.2.v20080102. I would post a bug if i knew how to
reproduce it, but it seems to happen quite randomly, unfortunately.

I think it might have something to do with
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=201868

The symptoms sometimes are the same, but in most cases it freezes up my
entire workspace in the end....

I'll try disabling code folding and report back here if i can safely say
anything about the influence of disabling folding on this issue.

Hi Dave,

I think i can safely say disabling code folding fixes the problem. What
do you recommend about posting the bug?
