Hi,

Yes, this download is for 64-bit AIX. The difference between it and the
motif-based release is the native widget toolkit that is used (gtk vs.
motif). The upcoming Eclipse 3.6.2 release is the last one that will offer
motif-based swt/eclipse for any platform.

Sorry, there are obviously some instructions missing from the download, I
will add them shortly. In summary, some AIX installations do not include
the native gtk libraries, in which case you need to install them. One place
you can get them is
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/software/aix/linux/toolb ox/alpha.html .
You need to install the "gtk2" rpm and all of its dependent rpms. I do not
know the full set of dependencies right now, so what you can do is to
download and attempt to install the "gtk2" rpm, and it should tell you which
of its dependencies are missing. They should all be available for download
from the same page.
