The console clears after executing Ecore2GMF.eol when it starts executing FixGMFGen.eol. This is incredibly annoying. Is there any way of stopping it from doing this ?

Hi Sorin,

Unfortunately not. However, if you could file a bug report for this
we'll do our best to release a new interim version that fixes this asap.

Cheers,
Dimitris

done:

BTW have you considered making the development process a bit more accessible ? Like for example putting a guide up for people that would like to contribute ? I find it incredibly difficult to find information about Eclipse related projects and especially this part. I mean compared with open source projects from other areas, like linux for example.

thanks,
Sorin.

Hi Sorin,

Thanks for doing this. The main venue for contributing to Eclipse
projects is through bug reports and feature requests in the bugzilla.
Patches that fix problems and implement new features are always welcome
too (again as attachments to the respective bugs in the bugzilla). Now
if your bugzilla/newsgroup activity indicates a long-term commitment to
a particular project, you can be nominated for committer rights on the
project which will give you full write-access to the SVN.

Is this perhaps what you were asking or where you looking for more
details about what is where in the source code repository?

Cheers,
Dimitris

Hey Dimitris,

No I mean up to the point where people can send you contributions. For example if I wanted to try and fix this bug where would I start ? And I mean beyond checking out the code from the repo, although most projects don't even seem to have that information on their page.

Hi Sorin,

Ah, I see - but I'm not sure how we should move forward with this. Do
you perhaps have any examples from other OSS projects that we can use as
a template?

Cheers,
Dimitris

Well for general structure of the site I like Apache Maven:
http://maven.apache.org/index.html
You get the main topics in big bold letters right from the first page.

For a developer guide people generally include some of the following:
- how do I get the code
- how do I build it
- how is the code organised (just a short description, it's not needed for people that are familiar with the technology but if you're not it's sometimes hard to figure where the project starts)
- what is the development process (release cycles mailing lists and other stuff)
- coding conventions, continuous integration

Now I don't think all of those apply to Eugenia, but even when they don't it's not a bad idea to talk about it. I mean if you don't have an elaborate development process you can just say that.

I might have a go at drafting something for Eugenia if you like but not before next week as I'm out of time over the weekend.

Thanks for the pointer. I think this all makes sense.

That'd be great!
