Hello,

On a report I made table with a group (bases on a data set computed column). In group Header of my table i make an aggregation Sum on a colomn of my data Set.

Birt 2.6 (Actuate 11)

when I put this on a libarie it does not work anymore. I have an exception saying the group I defined does not exist. I do not understand because it works when it's in the report and not in a library.

ERROR :
Group "groupSreadCommRate" used in column Aggr-Sum-SpreadCommRate-Notional does not exist.

Is the dataset in a library?

Yes, Data set is in a library (used several times in my report)
which is used and referenced by my library containing my grid & my table. This library is set in my report.

ReportDesign ----> Grid-TableLibrary ---> DataSetLibrary

I made some tests

My library containing my Table using a group with an aggregation is in a Grid :
Library : Grid
Row ---- col ---- Table
Row ---- col ---- (empty : will be filled later)

In this configuration I have an error that group in my Table does not exists.

I tried this : Library : Table (no grid, nothin else)

and it works.

It seems the problem is linked to the fact my Table is embedded in a Grid. Have you ever seen this problem ?

Is there another solution than do not use the Grid and only put directly the Table ?

Can you email me the library and the report design? Or preferably build
a library and report off the sample db that shows the problem and post them?

For privacy reasons I cannot send my work directly. I have an idea. I can try we the sample database and check if there is the same pb and send you that.

I made a report sample using the Birt sample database.

I have also the problem if there is a grid in which I put a table with a group and an aggregation.

In my I made a report design with a simple Grid and two libraries. First library is a Grid containing my table and reproducing the problem. second library is just the table without changing anything : it works.

I do not understand why there is this trouble.

anthonyserfati at hotmail dot com
I Tried the jar you sent me ( two report libraries and a report) and ran
it in 2.6.1 and it ran for me. Are you using 2.6.1 or 2.6.0?

I used 2.6.1 and did not see the issue. Do you have a support case open
with Actuate?

No support cas opened for the moment bu some internal discussion bt mail.

We are developping a reporting prototype with Actuate people.

I made the test with Birt 2.5 : it works.

So what next ? It seems this issue is not for all 2.6.0 and 2.6.1.

It would be good if you could get a support case opened for it.
