and ever since I got this error msg for every application created, uploaded and ran on the emulator. However, all applications ran well on the emulator. Any ideas what's the cause & how to fix it?

I too have gone crazy with this problem...

Finally solved it with a simple configuration on Eclipse:
- Window --> Preferences
- Select Android -> DDMS from left panel
- Increase value of "ADB connection time out (ms)"
