Ok so I'm trying to build a data mapping tool in eclipse and for that I need an editor with two nodes that each have a tree inside and that I can draw connections between.

So I made a model similar to the filesystem example so that I can add nodes inside a main node. All I need to do now is to get the layout similar to a tree.

My question is are there any examples out there of doing something like this and am I approaching it the right way ?

Also how do I remove all the stuff that appears when I hover over the diagrams ? The "Click and drag to create connection" and the "Add Node" thing ?

Thanks,
Sorin.

Hi Sorin,

Both questions appear to be more suitable for the GMF forum (CC'ed).

Cheers,
Dimitris

Hi, Dimitris.
The GMF people I have been working with have helped two clients to get
XText and other advanced stuff inside a node.

Your problem is very generic, as it combines tree editors with GMF. It
would for instance as well apply, if you want to show parts of resources
(as trees) and then allow to set references by drawing them. Or
displaying references in an existing model.

If you do not get examples and have it fixed right away, can you please
make sure there is a feature request for this on bugzilla? As well
please forward it to me such that I can vote for it.

Regards, Philipp
