missing builder after distribution upgrade [message #632391]

I just upgraded ubuntu to 10.10 and in the process eclipse lost all the plugin builders.
I have tried reinstalling it via the packagemanager to no avail. And the buildin addon installer wont let me install them because they are already registered as installed.

And I have checked the .project file, and the builders are linked there already (also visible under 'properties for <myproject>'.

any ideas on how i can fix this?
