(sorry for this newbie quesiton)
How to use SWTBot with the HelloWorldSWT. Is there a tutorial around? (all tutorials I found handle with RCPs, but not "normal" java apps.)
in other words: is SWTBot able to run with applications, that are not plugins or RCP's?
if yes: is there an example around?
Thanks
Andreas

Since there are few opensource tools support RCP (in fact, I just seen abbot and swtbot), from what I know, swtbot is designed to test RCP based App. If you wanna test another java application, you can use other tools which can help you peform your testing easier by providing record and playback function.

Refer to the list in this page for more tools: http://www.manageability.org/blog/stuff/open-source-automate d-test-tools-written-in-java
