I have gotten git to work from the console, on my windoze box, with cygwin, openssh, and corkscrew, through my http proxy. However, I cannot seem to port forward with it, since the ssh configuration of eGit does not seem to support proxying. More on that at http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2010-09/msg00739.html
So, I decided to try the https route. I configured my http proxy in eclipse and used my github url of https://smaring@github.com/smaring/yui-war-overlays However, as soon as I try to do the import I get ...
Cannot list the available branches.
Reason:
https://smaring@github.com/smaring/yui-war-overlays
https://smaring@github.com/smaring/yui-war-overlays/info/ref s?service=git-upload-pack not found.
What the heck is this git-upload-pack service thingy? Is this something Github is expected to have?
and more importantly ... has ANYONE been able to configure eGit to access Github from behind an http proxy?
Thanks,
Steve Maring
