I had the menu option for sharing a text editor. But now that I
installed all the Ganymeded plugins - it has gone away. Any ideas how
to get it back?

And it is in two installations on two different PCs

There was an old, far less functional version of editor sharing (example
code) that is now deprecated/removed in Ganymede in preference to the
DocShare plugin

http://wiki.eclipse.org/DocShare_Plugin

I presume that this is what you were seeing...but no longer seeing.

Thanks,

Scott

The screenshots on that page are approximately what you should see.

Are you connected to an XMPP account when bringing up the context menu?
No item will appear if you are not connected to any accounts capable
of doing real-time shared editing. Also...there must be someone else in
your contacts list who is logged in/available.

If you are connected, and there is someone else available in your
contacts list and you are not seeing the Share Editor with item in the
editor's contact list then something is wrong. If this is the case,
please open a bug report and provide any info from your log file and
info about your configuration, version and accounts.

Thanks,

Scott

Ok,
I reinstalled the basic rcp eclise and see what you are saying. On my
other machine i was connected to google talk and had plenty of people
that I could communicate with so I am not sure why couldn't see the menu
option. I am going to connect ot google talk on this machine and see if
I see the menu option. If so, I will do a full install of Ganymeded
plugins and test again.

Seems intermittent with Google Talk. Could be because people are online
but "away"
