sorry I should have added - when trying to run skype example on linux i
get error.
org.eclipse.ecf.core.ContainerCreateException: Could not create skype
container

at
org.eclipse.ecf.core.ContainerFactory.createContainer(Contai nerFactory.java:258)

at
org.eclipse.ecf.internal.ui.actions.SelectProviderAction.ope nConnectWizard(SelectProviderAction.java:141)
at
org.eclipse.ecf.internal.ui.actions.SelectProviderAction.acc ess$0(SelectProviderAction.java:137)
at
org.eclipse.ecf.internal.ui.actions.SelectProviderAction$1.w idgetSelected(SelectProviderAction.java:100)

apologies if this is a known issue and the skype-linux work is incomplete.

Hi Roy,

Unfortunately this is a known issue...and the skype-linux work is simply
incomplete. We've been having a few difficulties getting the underlying
skype4java API (a java impl for skype that we are using) working on
linux and ECF committer Marcelo Mayworm had last been working on it.
I've copied Marcelo on this so maybe he can jump in.

We would like to have the skype/linux work be made available as soon as
possible...so Roy is there some chance that you would be able to help us
out by working on helping us debug skype4java in linux? It may be as
simple as getting the skype4java native library configuration setup
correctly, although that is not clear yet. This would be the best way
to help us get the skype/linux working as quickly as possible. One real
limitation for us is simply that we don't have any existing committers
that regularly use Skype on linux for testing (and are able/willing to
run Eclipse debugger into both ECF and skype4java code).

So please let us know...and please consider joining the ecf mailing list
at ecf-dev@eclipse.org. My email is slewis at composent.com.
