Putting Multiple Containers in One Content Panel? [message #615295] Sat, 26 May 2007 06:51

I'm having a problem with the VE. I have a window with a JPanel as a
ContentPane. I want to set this to a BoxLayout on the Y axis, which I've
done, but then, when I try to add two different panels to it, I can't. I
want to add one panel that will be a strip across the top, as if it were a
menu bar (but it'll be 4-6 buttons instead) and below that I want a
JTabbedPane. Whenever I add either a regular JPanel or the JTabbedPane to
the ContentPane, it fills the entire ContentPane and I can't find any way
to add the other container.

I have no problem putting multiple components in any pane, but once I put
one container in a pane, I can't find a way to put any other containers in.

How can I do this?

Thanks!

Hal
