Move tasks to Trac connector [message #62105] Mon, 24 November 2008 16:18 Go to next message

Hi,

I have a bunch of local tasks. Recently, I set up a Trac system, even
managed to connect to it (there should be an explanation somewhere that
you have to install the xml-rpc plugin) and want to move the local tasks
to Trac. Is there an easy way to do this?

TIA, H.

Unfortunately there is no bulk migration code available. One practice
is, on an as needed basis, right click on a task and select New > Clone
Task... cloning the task to your new Trac repository, then marking the
old local task as resolved or deleting it. Consider submitting a bug
report for a more automated solution:

As for xml-rpc requirement, I believe it is mentioned in the wiki but
you are welcome to improve its visibility (just need an eclipse bugzilla
account to edit the wiki):

It is, but that documentation is rather outdated and not very easily
structured. I had overlooked it.

Is the Mylyn project interested in a contribution from the community for "Move tasks" functionality? The feature would be similar to "Clone task" except that it would handle a single task or multiple and it would close the source ticket(s).

Thank you
