Hello everyone,

I've installed on my linux box eclipse 3.3 and downloaded the necessary
modules for BPEL related developing.

Being a newbie of this technology, I started with a HelloWorld template
through the wizard "New BPEL process file" but failed to obtain a .bpel
file that eventually runs. Does it need more before starting? A WSDL
maybe? See console output attached.

So I've downloaded the bpel_examples.zip from the tutorial and succeded
in running the test_general.bpel file, connected to localhost:11000 but
found nothing I could find useful, besides the fact that I didn't find
the java classes created (if any). Do I have to run another command to
perform an export?

All in all I need to understand how to perform the following:
1) create a simple bpel files that loads a WSDL file
2) run the bpel file that the Eclipse plugin creates
3) finally generate the relevant Java classes

I know this is a generic question, but I'm sort of lost because I can't
understand how far my ignorance goes far and how soon the plugin's bugs
comes towards me.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Antonio

Hi Antonio,

B2J has not been tested with the 'New BPEL process file' wizard. Rather
its testing is based around the tutorial test files.

In general there are some important differences between B2J and a
typical BPEL engine which may cause compatibility issues when running
BPEL not destined for B2J inside B2J.

The details of these differences are described in the B2J tutorial under
"BPEL servers and the B2J reference BPEL engine". The BPEL tutorial can
be found at the following link:

http://www.eclipse.org/stp/b2j/docs/tutorials/wsbpel/wsbpel_ tut.php

thanks

Antony
