I have a model that is created in java, that gets perisisted fine, but
doesn't get recreated when I read it back in.

When I create and save an instance of the subclass, and then look in the
database, I can see all of its properties in the corresponding table. When
I read it back in, the properties from the superclass are ok, and the getter
methods work fine. However, the properties that are defined in the subclass
are all null.
