Hello,

i have to use Eclipse with Papyrus in my practical semester.

No I've got some problems.

First, i wish there would be a step by step tutorial for Papyrus, because i spent a lot of time by learning how this modelling tool works....

My next Point is that i haven't found an option to export my created diagrams into png or something else...

And last, i can't add on class diagrams return parameters.

Can someone help me?

Normaly, you can export image by using contextual menu on a diagram:
File>Save as image file. If this is not the case, this is a bug

About parameters, are they "return parameters of operation"?

Hello Angi,

Thanks for pointing this out.
Could you open a bug against MDT Papyrus on the Eclipse bugzilla ?
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/

Even if we are trying our best, MDT Papyrus is not yet free of bugs.
Any help and suggestions are more than welcome :) (by reporting bugs,
providing patchs, discussing the implementation / specification...).

Best Regards,

Thibault

In the property view, you can create a parameter for an operation, then
select the parameter, you can change the direction "in", "out", "inout",
"return".

About the save of diagram, it is already fixed for the next release at the
end of september.

Maybe you misunderstood Patrick?
The option to export images can be found in the context menu. You have to click into the diagram with the right button of your mouse. Then the context menu appears next to your mouse pointer. The option can not be found in the menu at the top of the window!

In the context menu there are several items starting with "Filter views...", "Add", "Navigate", and the fourth item is "File". Inside "File" you can find "Save As Image File...". You can choose between several formats like GIF, PNG, SVG, and PDF in the dialog. Though PDF is not working for me.

Oh Thank you,
I found it now and it works. But If someone is new at papyrus he doesn't find this option :)

I think it's a main function which is needed every time....

Hello,

I want to export the diagramas I have created with Papyrus over eclipse helios as an image. I have tried what Markus wrote but I can't find the option "Save as image file". I have tried the option "Export...", but I can't find image file type in the output types supported.

I tried to install this plugin ("Image export", it allows exporting GEM/GMF diagrams to images ), which is in the eclipse marketplace, but when I find it in the plugin list, there isn't an install button next to it, so I can't install it.

I want to know what is the problem or if there is other choice to export as image or print a papyrus diagram.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

(Tested on Papyrus 0.8.0 RC3)
With the diagram open, right-click anywhere in the diagram, then select
"File/Save as image file".

regards,

Yann
