Hi,

I am new user for both eclipse & TPTP.

My need is i have to profile an web based application(we used weblogic
8.1,J2ee Technologies),which contain a lot of classes.(all these calses
are interdependent, none of them is standalone).

My doubt is for me it is possible to profile these classes independently?

Did i need to start agentcontroller(to profile independently)?
What is important of external java application?

I already gone through the TPTP doc's,and i profile some small classes
which are standalone by following those doc's.

My Environment

Win XP sp2
Eclipse 3.2
TPTP 4.1.0.1

If any one provide me any clear idea about profiling.

I feel so great by any one help.

thanks,
Raghu Ram

Hi.
Since TPTP 4.1.0.1, there is support on integration with WTP (Eclipse Web
Tool Platform) project, where you can start your web application/server in
profile mode. Similar to Run or Debug mode, you can start an application
via launch shortcut (right click > Profile > Profile on Server). The
support is shipped with TPTP 4.1.0.1, as long as you have WTP plugins in
your workbench, the profile support will automatically be enabled.

View Filtering is also available for you to filter out profiling data on
selected packages, classes, or methods. You can create multiple filters
and apply each of them for independent analysis.
