No new perspectives, views, or menu items after installing TPTP [message #59973] Fri, 24 March 2006 16:43 Go to next message

I just installed TPTP in my Eclipse 3.1.2.
Actually, I've installed it twice. I tried once via the
download/unzip method, and when that didn't seem to add anything to
Eclipse, I did the "Find and Install ..." method.

I still don't have any new perspectives, views, or menu items.
As far as I can tell, it just isn't there.

Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

You gave us the Eclipse version... what version of TPTP? Which version
of EMF/XSD?? What platform?

Did you try running eclipse -clean?

Give me a little more, and we'll get you through it.

Hi Griffin--

I had this same problem the other day and someone named Parveed was kind
enough to give me a work around solution. It's not too far below this
string and it's entitled "Missing 3 plugins". Take a look at what both
Parveen and Randy had to say about that, and why the update approach
doesn't completely work just yet.

Lets see, running on MS Windows XP Pro SP 2
Eclipse 3.1.2
TPTP 4.1.0.1
I don't know what EMF/XSD stands for. (If it is a required package, I
missed it in the instructions.)

I tried "eclipse -clean", and it made no difference.

EMF and XSD are required.

You can get download links from the requirements sections of
http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/downloads.php

Ok, I decided to start "clean".
Luckily I had made a backup of my Eclipse folder before attempting
this install.
I went to the page you gave, downloaded the EHP, XSD, TPTP, and Agent
Controller.
Installed all of them.
Nothing.
So I did an "Eclipse -clean".

NOW things are appearing in my Menus! Hallelujah!
