Hi Matt,

Note: I'm adding the newsgroup "eclipse.platform.ua" to this also--that
is a new newsgroup that is focused specifically on the Eclipse user
assistance features (help, cheat sheets, Welcome, etc). The Eclipse UA
team monitors that newsgroup.

How did you install the new version?
Did you up the version number of the updated plug-in to a new number? I
mean, if it was version="1.2.0" before, did you update the number to
version="1.2.1", to tell Eclipse that the plug-in had been updated?

I have always thought that if the plug-in version number is updated,
then upon restart of the runtime, Eclipse will 'notice' and regenerate
the Lucene indexes. (I could be wrong.)

FWIW, there is a Bugzilla request for enhancement opened about having a
way to rebuild the Lucene indexes:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=75958

If that would meet your needs, please vote for that bugzilla entry.
