Hello,

I am currently running Eclipse 3.4 64-bit on Linux. Occasionally, I will
start getting errors in Eclipse when I try and do things like right-click
on a class in the Package explorer or expand a tree in the plugin.xml
editor. Usually the errors are NPE, but sometimes are
NoClassDefFoundError. In my console, I will get an error message along
the lines of:

Error: IOException encountered while reading
" /path/to/workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.pde.core/. extensions/.extraData.1 ".

I haven't been able to reliably reproduce at this time. Sometimes it
happens right away, sometimes I can go hours before it happens. The only
thing that fixes it is to restart Eclipse.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I didn't see any bugs about
this, but I'm hoping its something I can fix easily because it is very
frustrating.

Thanks,

Jason

Really no one has seen this error? I was looking for more information
about what could be causing it before I would file a bug report, but I
guess I will just submit the bug.

Thanks,

Jason
