Hi
I've just begun with RSE. Just downloaded and installed. I've attempted to make a remote connection to a linux host (from my linux box) using "ssh only".

I can connect to the same remote host using ssh and sshfs from a terminal. However not through rse. RSE does something weird: it changes the name of the host into upper case. I tested the upper case name using ssh in a terminal: it didn't work.(In both cases (RSE and terminal) I got an invalid password.

I'd have to presume that the upper case makes the host name invalid. I can't believe that someone else hasn't tried this and found this to be a problem. If there is another possible source for the error please let me know...

Regards

Mark

Hi,

this is the first time I hear that a host name is case sensitive. Very
weird! Anyways, to work around the issue I'd suggest using an IP Address
instead of the host name.

To find out the IP address, do any of

nslookup your.host.name
ping your.host.name

If you can indeed verify that capitalizing the hostname is the problem,
I'd also appreciate if you could file a bug against Target Management,
with more details about your case:

HTH,
Martin
