All queries disappear after Mylyn 3.0/Collabnet 1.6 (IssueZilla connector) upgrade [message #57779] Tue, 16 September 2008 04:18 Go to next message

After months of being bugged by Eclipse to install the Mylyn 3.0
upgrade, only to be immediately told that it wasn't compatible with my
configuration, I was finally able to upgrade because the IssueZilla
connector was at last updated to support Mylyn 3.0.

Now that I've done the upgrade and restarted though, all of my queries
and remote tasks have disappeared. My local tasks look like they got
upgraded and my IssueZilla repositories are still defined, but all the
queries are gone.

I've tried:

- restoring tasks from previous checkpoints (there are a bunch of
checkpoints listed with reasonable looking timestamps, but restoring
them doesn't change the task display)
- uninstalling and reinstalling both Mylyn and the Collabnet Desktop
(package that you have to install to get the IssueZilla connector).

The only thing suspicious looking in the error log is

!ENTRY org.eclipse.equinox.p2.director 2 0 2008-09-15 19:29:56.265
!MESSAGE Problems resolving provisioning plan.
!SUBENTRY 1 org.eclipse.equinox.p2.director 2 0 2008-09-15 19:29:56.265
!MESSAGE Unable to satisfy dependency from org.eclipse.mylyn.ide.ui
3.0.1.v20080721-2100-e33 to requiredCapability:
osgi.bundle/org.eclipse.ui.ide/[3.3.0,3.4.0).

which I don't really understand because I've got org.eclipse.ui.ide
3.4.0.I2080606-1300 installed.

Any hints on how to get my queries back (or how to start debugging this)?

Obviously I could recreate all my queries, but it would be better if I
didn't have to.

No one had any suggestions as to what the solution might be, so I ended
up having to recreate all my queries.

If you're upgrading, you probably want to make sure that you've exported
all your query definitions, flushed any pending updates, and backed up
all your local tasks.

My repository definitions did survive the upgrade, despite the fact that
the queries didn't, but you probably want to make a note of them as
well, just in case.
