Hi,

to bring up the "SWT for KDE / Qt" subject again: the Qt toolkit
(foundation of KDE) is being relicensed as LGPL.

A blog entry with further links can be found here:
http://labs.trolltech.com/blogs/2009/01/14/beat-me-to-the-pu nch/

If they really do "want KDE to be ten times as big
<http://dot.kde.org/1231920504/>", I'd say one smart step would be to
contribute themselves a SWT port to Eclipse...

Well, at least things are moving in the right direction, however further
long it may take until Eclipse becomes what it could really be on
Linux :-)

To add to this, SWT using QT underneath would mean a single
implementation of SWT, since QT takes care of platform specific UIs on
all platforms it runs on :)

Yes, that would be of real help.

FYI, there is a bug open looking for guidance on dealing with non EPL
compliant licenses.

Just for reference the UFaceKit-Project already works on a port of its
API for QT [1].
