RSE 2.0.0 (TM 2.0.1) FTP STOR ignores ASCII/binary preferences saving remote files [message #569647] Tue, 07 August 2007 17:57

I'm in the process of moving to Eclipse 3.3 with RSE 2.0.0 (with the TM
2.0.1 patches) and have noticed that the STOR operation to save remote files
always uses a binary transfer, regardless of the transfer type specified in
the preferences. The RETR operation to open files transfers according to
the settings in the preferences page. The same thing occurs when copying
files between the Local connection and a remote host. Should this be the
expected behavior? I've been using Eclipse 3.2.2 with RSE 1.0.1 and it uses
the preferences settings to open and save files. The consequence of this
new behavior is that I'm getting unexpected line break characters.

My connections are setup as FTP only connections for both versions of RSE.

Has anyone else experienced this? I looked for a bug description and
couldn't find anything like what I'm seeing -- perhaps I should open one?

Thanks,
Stephen Davison
