Earlier today we published the http://www.eclipse.org/proposals/virgo/ as part of the http://www.eclipse.org/rt umbrella project.

Rather than repeat information from the proposal or the SpringSource http://blog.springsource.com/2010/01/12/dm-server-project-mo ves-to-eclipse-org/, let me open by saying a warm "welcome" to all current and potential members of the Virgo community.

SpringSource will be releasing http://www.springsource.org/dmserver 2.0 imminently and then we'll be focussing on making the contribution to Virgo.

Meanwhile, please take the time to think big. The Virgo project enables a lot of possibilities. I'm personally interested in seeing other https://fisheye.springsource.org/browse/dms-kernel applications, in addition to https://fisheye.springsource.org/browse/dms-web, being invented and developed.

How can you get involved? Download the 2.0 release and take it for a spin. Share your thoughts and ask questions here. Consider how (components of) dm Server may be of use to you and what extensions and changes you'd like to see. Review the code and blog your insights. To a large extent, you the Virgo community will define the future of Virgo.
