Hello
I have read the eBAM proposal and it's interesting.
I'm starting to design a monitor solution, for a customer of mine, and I would like to understand how eBAM can help me to solve these issues:
- I have to handle a Log4J output ( with RollingAppender ), can the eBAM adapter manage it ?
- Is it mandatory to use CBE to write/read events ?
- What kind of allarms can I use ?

Thanks for all,
Davide.

Hi Davide,
Thank you for your interest.

- eBAM is able to read files generated by Log4J. The "Log Adapter" will use "Generic Log Adapter" ( Eclipse TPTP Project ) , we are adding the ability to read files generated by RollingFileAppender.

- To define the events you can use CBE (Common Base Event) or you can define a custom schema, eBAM can managed event in XML format.

- You can send alarm mail to the users using distribution lists

Thanks
Angelo
