I wrote a little plug-in that allows to see the node model:
http://www.ralfebert.de/blog/xtext/node_outline/

I hope I didn't reinvented the wheel here; if not, would you consider
this as contribution to Xtext? (the code needs to be polished and
cleaned up of course)

Hi Ralf,

this looks nice. We're currently redesigning the outline and we will
allow multiple view points (outline trees) on the same model. One of
these could be your node view. But IMHO the node model is rather
technical so we might not want to activate it by default. To discuss
this further, would you open a bug?

Regards
Jan

Seems to me the full node model outline is particularly useful if you need to do something with the hidden token streams -like with Ralf's indentation-aware languages.

Usually, visualizing the AST/semantic model would/should be enough and you can get that by opening the DSL instance with the "Sample Reflective Ecore Model Editor" or the "Generic EMF Editor" as well (see http://dslmeinte.wordpress.com/2010/09/06/tricks-for-impleme nting-scoping/, under "Visualizing the AST").

Jan,
is it already released? I queried Bugzilla but couldn't find anything.

The node model outline has not made it into Xtext yet, but the bugzilla is
