Sorry for this basic question.

I have two classes A and B which are linked, with an association of 1 at the A end, and many at the B end.

If I have two objects of class B, B1 and B2, and I want to set up a precondition in OCL which checks that B1 and B2 are both in the collection of Bs linked to an object of class A, A1 could I do this using includesAll?

I could say (I think):

A1->include(B1)
and A1->includes(B2)

but could I say something like

A1->includesAll(Set{B1,B2})

Or is there a nicer and more normal way to do this altogether?

I am just not sure of the syntax (and a lot more). If anyone can recommend a cracking OCL resource for the learner, preferably with examples, I would be very happy!

Hi Peter,

EDIT: Yes, like in the acceleo OCL documentation, the includesAll() function should work as expected and looks like the shortest way to solve your problem.

I also had to start learning OCL 4 months ago.

My best resource for this was the documentation of acceleo, an eclipse plugin. For each method, small examples are provided.

However, not every OCL method is stated there, like the iterate() function. For a complete reference, look at the standard which can be found here:
http://www.omg.org/spec/OCL/2.2/

To my knowledge, OCL also supports additional functions like closure(). For this, I haven't found official documentation with examples, yet.

We will trry to do better on documentation when the current changes for
4.0 giuve us a stable neww base to document.

Attached is my proposed, but not yet approved resolution of OMG OCL
Issue 13944 for closure. This is implemented by MDT/OCL 3.0.0. (MDT/OCL
does not implement the Ordered/Sequehnce aspect.).
