A lot of existing links to content on help.eclipse.org are
now dead, for example because they point to API docs
from Eclipse 3.2. This includes much of the content
discovered by a google search, as well as some content
on eclipse.org itself.
For example, google "ITextContentDescriber".
Currently, dead links redirecto to a generic top-level
page, http://www.eclipse.org/documentation/. While
this page includes a search box, it uses google itself,
so its own results have the same problem.
Can you please arrange for google to reindex
help.eclipse.org, and/or improve the 404 handling so
that stale links redirect directly to appropriate
current content?
thanks,
Jon

Jon,
That's definitely an annoying problem! It would certainly be nice for
the top match to be for the most recent content. It would be better to
open a bugzilla report.
