Has anyone any experience using a single birt home within an application spread across multiple tomcat instances?

The BIRT runtime is currently located in a common directory on the server and each instance of the application has a config parameter to locate the birt home (using PlatformFileContext).

We currently see no problems at runtime with this setup, but load isnt particularly high. Are there any known issues running in this configuration under high load?

I appreciate the alternative is to place the birt runtime inside the war and use PlatformServletContext, thereby ensuring each instance of the app has its own birt runtime.
