....for use in user interfaces. Especially with focus on entering
arbitrary (compatible) units in a field based on the "type" of the field.

As an example assume, you have a UI control for a length. You should
then be able to define the type of measure (length) and the base type
(e.g. meters). The field should then allow you to enter any type of
compatible unit including performing content assist for the possible units.

We are already working of a prototype for this for a UI framework named
UI Bindings.

Dear Tommy,

Thanks a lot for your interest expressed here.

To start with, please have a look at our SVN repository:
http://ikayzo.org/svn/UOMo/trunk

which should grant you R/O anonymous access either using an Eclipse SVN
client of your choice or other SVN access.

We'd more than welcome your input here, or potential contributions based on
your prototype. Those by Peter Kriens (Equinox) and Paul Morrison already
have been factored into the current code contributions. And right now I also
have the Business/Financial module in the same state as JScience 4.x
Economics were (the "Travel Cost" example is kind of our "Petshop" or
"Toast" if you like and it shows identical results with UOMo, only full
currency conversion is what I'm working on next...

If you would like to be added to the list of interested parties, please just
confirm the exact phrasing, I assume it's not too different from your
signature here ;-)

Kind Regards,

Werner

Although it was published a while ago, this paper by Keijzer & Babovic from
Denmark 2001 looks like one of the most important academic works next to
probably just Andrew Kennedy:
http://bscw.ihe.nl/pub/bscw.cgi/d2466207/Babovic-ecohydrauli cs.pdf

Have you come across them or DHI Denmark?

P.s.: EMO / Wayne said, UOMo Creation Review is soon to come. The week from
Sep 13 to 20th is most likely.
I'll announce it specifically here soon, too.

Regards,
Werner

Tonny,

Would you also like to contribute to UOMo?

It has now been formally created, and I'm about to transfter the initial
codebase next week as soon as I get a stable internet connection.
We're using Git there as prefered for new proects.

Regards,
Werner

Tonny,

Are you still interested in using UOMo?
I've been in touch with the Sapphire project and assuming enough resources
(either time of my own or other committers) I'd love to integrate its UI
features with UOMo.

With the help of Tycho ideally the first RCP plugin example for UOMo should
also be built by Hudson while all of UOMo is constantly built now (see
another post here)

Regards,
Werner
