Hi, I am a novice when it comes to all of this so please be gentle..
I am interested in learning how I can transform a diagram that a user has created in the running GMF editor into text.
Can any one suggest any links/tutorials/books...

Hi jB,
what you are looking for is a model to text transformation language,
and there are a few you can use. In this link
(http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/m2t) you have a set of languages
included in the Eclipse Modelling project (Xpand, Jet and Acceleo). But
there are others, such as

what you are looking for is a model to text transformation language,
