bin versus target directories [message #550551]

Folks,

I am new to Maven and m2eclipse.

It appears that the default output directory for Eclipse project is "bin" where as the one for Maven builds is "target."

Is this standard? Or, do we need to change the output directory in Eclipse to "target" as well?
